I've been working with Illustrator for about 7 or 8 years. Haven't had the luxury of upgrading to CS2 yet, but would be glad to help out and answer any questions that I can!

Hi
I just discovered this group.
I am interested in developing skills in Illustrator but I find it hard to get started.
As I use Photoshop and The Gimp a lot I thought it would be easy to learn Illustrator but it is more difficult than I had expected.

Good luck with learning as it is great when you do get the hang of it. I've been working with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop for about 11 yrs and am still learning and practicing techniques everyday.
When you see this has been done completely in illustrator using the gradient mesh tool i realised i still have alot more to learn.

This is the work of KOJI MASUI Illustrator master (google him and check out some of his other work)

This forum is not exactly booming but I will give it a try and post again.
As I posted earlier I am new to Illustrator and have now just started trying out some of the tutorials.
(Thanks to lukenmich for the links.)
The first big problem I have ran into was with transparency and I wonder if anybody can give me some really easy and simple explanation on how to use the transparency option.
I am using Illustrator CS.
Thanks.

It was originally started as a repsonse to the ever-popular photoshop tutorials group, and some of us figured it'd be good to have one for Illustrator, but alas, it's not been as popular for whatever reason. But feel free to share your insights, questions, invite folks, revive the group if you like. One thing we do need here is more people who are experienced or have any familiarity with Illustrator and its workings. I for one can't answer your question unfortunately, cuz I suck.

At Illustrator.

Which is to say, I know very little about it.
